Once in a rare while, you see or read something that is truly innovative. Something that forces you to think outside of the traditionally accepted script. This book is just that. The author merges true historic counts of Christ with modern-day characters and offers insight into the side of Christ many simply don't think about. The Bible tells us he walked this earth and has experienced everything we experience, and this book gives you a glimpse into what that may have looked like. When you blend a love story, exciting multi-faceted characters, just the right amount of sci-fi, and what that may look like if all those worlds collide, you have Saving Christ. A must-read.
It is a really very striking book from its cover, it has left me surprised in many aspects.
I haven't really heard of such stories, and I didn't hesitate to start reading the book.
It has turned out to be a very original story and its argument is well developed. The parts
that relate to past events have very well-developed scenes, in which you can see that the author has done a great job of research. The characters are realistic and each one has their own imprint.
Without a doubt, the most captivating character is that of Jennifer who has been sent back in time to the last days of Christ.
"A wonderful story whose time has finally come. [Pollen] would be a great movie!" -- Sharyn Ross, motion picture film editor
Author/actor Francis T. Perry Williams understands theatrics and has created a time travel history-romance-spiritual novel that is unique, entertaining, and challenging to traditional thinking. The excellent cover art hints strongly at the story, but it is Williams’ uncanny ability to make this fantasy sci-fi novel credible that makes it soar. The Starway Seven of the title is a time capsule that transports contemporary people to Jerusalem to visit the final last days of Christ - a mission influenced by the President of the USA seeking information on how a Father ‘lost his Son’ after the President lost his own son and wants revenge. The league of travelers includes the female lead, Jennifer, who manages to enter a love affair with Jesus, and in doing so reveals insights into the last days of Christ. The events of the novel, both from contemporary time and from the time travel to Jerusalem, are very well sculpted, making near credible the events and wholly credible the spiritual aspects. Far from blasphemous, this book enlightens in a very positive way. A little miracle of a novel!
Thought Christianity and science fiction don’t go together? Think again! In the novel “Saving Christ: Stairway Seven”, author Francis T. Perry Williams effortlessly combines time travel with the timeless story of the life of Christ. With characters as diverse as the President of the United States, who wants to revenge himself on God, and a young intelligence agent named Jennifer, who get to meet Christ in person, the tale will keep readers on the edge of their seat from start to finish. While Christian science fiction is, in fact, an established genre, and this novel is therefore not really “the first of its kind”, per the description, this takes nothing away from this novel. I think it’s a great choice for Christian fiction.
